about-photo-new

Nice to digitally meet you! I'm Keegan Hernick, but my friends sometimes call me Keegs. I'm a UX/UI designer with a background in design, content strategy and marketing. I'm an end-to-end designer who combines empathy, curiosity and design to transform complex problems into elegant solutions. I'm currently working as the lead UX Designer on the travel team at U.S. News & World Report.

Journey to UX

For a good part of my twenties I struggled to find a career I was truly passionate about. I spent a few years at a small creative agency as a content strategist where I had the opportunity to get my hands into a lot of different projects—from strategy to design/branding to research. I then found myself in a less creative role as a marketing manager, unfulfilled due to the lack of a space for my creative energy. I felt stuck. Until—I found UX! I now get to use my passion for research, strategy and design on a daily basis—creating meaningful experiences to inspire, transform, and help others.

Things that put a smile on my face

  • ?  I'm a devoted Minnesota Gopher fan and cheerleading alum. Catch me at TCF Bank Stadium every Saturday home game. You can take the girl out of cheerleading, but you can't take cheerleading out of the girl.

  • ? I love staying active and being outside. Group fitness is my go to workout—barre, HIIT, spin—you name it, I'm there.

  • ? I could probably eat pizza everyday. There is truly never a bad time to eat it. My favorite pizza spot in MPLS is Punch.

  • ? I love to travel and document my adventures. I guess you could call me a (very) amateur GoPro videographer.

  • ? I'm a creative soul and love solving problems. Being equally left and right brained is a big reason why UX excites me. I get to use my analytical/strategic and design/creative skills on a daily basis.
